Entrance University College of Health Sciences is newly established private tertiary institution with accreditation for the training of Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) from the National Accreditation Board and affiliated to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Kumasi. The mission of the University College is “To provide an ethical and entrepreneurial environment for teaching, research and training for medical and health professionals to impact generations.

Job Description

Job Title: President

Job Summary

• The President shall be the academic head and Chief Executive Officer of the University College and shall by, virtue of his/her office
• Be responsible, in accordance with the statutes and with decisions of council and the academic board, for organising and conducting the academic, financial and administrative business of the university college
• Be the chief disciplinary officer of the University College
• Have overall authority over the academic, financial and administrative staff and
• Submit annually, through the academic board, to council a statement on the staff which, in his opinion, is necessary for the transaction of University College business, together with an estimate of the expenditure required for the maintenance of such staff
• Shall advise the council and the academic board on all matters affecting policy, finance, governance, and administration of the University College
• The ultimate responsibility of the President is to the Chancellor and the council of the university college

Qualification Required & Experience

A Candidate seeking appointment as President must:

• Be of professorial status in a University or its equivalent in a research institute
• Be an internationally acclaimed academic and/or distinguished scholar
• Have a proven capacity to motivate, manage and direct staff
• Exhibit a high sense of industry, leadership qualities and organisational skills
• Be circumspect and above reproach
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and capacity to manage and control crisis situations
• Be visionary, business-oriented and be able to establish rapport between industry and the University for common purpose
• Be sober and mature with drive for sound and impartial judgment
• Have the capacity to raise funds and other resources for research and other development activities of the University
• Must subscribe to the University’s statement of faith without reservation
