The Local Government Service is a public Service institution established by the Local Government Service Act, 2003 (Act 656) which has been repealed and replaced with the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936). The Service exists ‘’to secure effective administration and management of the decentralized local government system in the country’’.

Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Statistician (Serial No. OHLGS 5)

Job Purpose: To provide technical advice and operational support for the implementation of the activities of the Department.

Accountability: The Assistant Statistician shall report to the Head of Department/ Unit.

Remuneration: The Assistant Statistician is a graduate (first degree) entry position with salary level SSSP 16L and other attractive fringe benefits.


Required Skills or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Demography, Population Studies,
Geography, Sociology and Development Planning from a recognized university.
