Job Description

Job Title: FACILITIES ASSOCIATE

JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI), a leader in global health, is currently recruiting for one Facilities Associate for the USAID-funded five year Strengthening the Care Continuum Project in Ghana. The overall goal of the project is to improve the capacity of the Government of Ghana (GOG) and its partners to provide quality and comprehensive HIV services for key populations and people living with HIV/AIDS using a coordinated and sustainable approach. This is a full-time position that will be based in Accra, Ghana.  S/he will report to the Human Resources Manager.

The Facilities Associate will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the Accra office facility.  This includes the following:

  • Ensure all lawn areas on the property are kept in clean, mowed condition.
  • Making sure that the main gate to the office and all exterior areas of the property is always tidied.
  • Ensuring refuse area and containers are clean and emptied on a timely basis.
  • Liaising with the refuse collection company in ensuring that all refuse are collected on the agreed days.
  • Clean outdoor furniture as needed.
  • Keep all plants and shrubbery on the property trimmed and watered and in presentable condition.
  • Maintain the generator in operating condition and turn it on and off as necessary during power outages.
  • Making sure that all garden and cleaning equipment is correctly maintained and serviced.
  • Notify the HR Manager concerning the need for major repairs or additions to the compound.
  • Request supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Assist in setting up, arranging, and removing tables and chairs to prepare facilities for events such as meetings and workshops.
  • Assist the Facilities Associates as needed in the general cleaning and upkeep of the Accra office.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by the HR Manager.

Required Skills or Experience

  • The candidate should have at least 5 years of experience working as a landscaper, cleaner, or similar work.
  • S/he should possess a basic ability to communicate in English.
  • S/he should be able to work within a diverse team and with minimal supervision.
