Job Description

The objectives of this new role are to develop and implement an environmental management system in accordance with company policies and Ghanaian legislation and to assist with project permitting activities. The job will be full time and based at the Esaase Gold Project site

Reporting to the GM – Health, Safety, Environment and Community, the incumbent’s responsibility will include:

Leading the development and documentation of risk management and standard operating procedures within a framework of continuous improvement
Assisting with project permitting activities (Environmental Impact Assessment)
Participating in consultation with local, regional and nationalMDAs
Supervising environmental baseline monitoring programmes
Carrying out routine inspections of workplaces
Tracking and reporting progress on environmental initiatives

Required Skills or Experience

Job Requirements:

A degree or equivalent in engineering or earth science discipline. A formal qualification in Environment is preferred
Minimum of seven (7) years experience in a similar role in the mining industry
Knowledgeable on issues related to environmental management
High degree of personal integrity and good communication skills
