Maersk Drilling is looking for a driven Procurement Associate to join our Procurement team in Accra, Ghana. The team plays a central role in supporting our 2 drillships operating in Ghana.

Job Title: Procurement Associate

Key Responsibilities

As a Procurement Associate in our supply chain team, you will be assigned the responsibility of supporting one of our drillships working in Ghana with end-to-end purchasing. It will be your responsibility to oversee and support the purchasing activities to ensure optimized delivery to our rigs. You will also be responsible in actively supporting and collaborating with our colleagues in Operation and Finance to insure an optimized end-to-end purchasing flow. You will be the driver of various initiatives to improve the supply chain activities with the rig management team, ensuring procurement involvement in all bigger purchases, and plan ahead with the drilling teams to ensure an efficient and cost optimized supply chain.

You main responsibilities will include:

  • Close coordination and collaboration with the offshore requesters to ensure a smooth day-to-day procurement of goods and services for our unit operations; handling of orders, follow-up with suppliers and handling of invoices
  • Handling of urgent orders
  • Collaborating across department to ensure good Supply Chain deliverables, KPIs
  • Supporting negotiation of Frame Agreements for all bigger spend areas not covered by a global strategy
  • Exploring, establishing and maintaining good relations with key suppliers for the rigs
  • Close dialogue with the onshore and off-shore management to ensure procurement support on all bigger purchases
  • Driving projects to improve operations; number of urgent, inventory levels, logistics operations, etc.
  • Driving procurement initiatives across units – ensure a holistic approach wherever possible

Who we are looking for

  • You hold procurement experience, with preferably 2-3 years in the Oil & Gas industry
  • You have strong negotiation skills
  • Experience with supplier management
  • Experienced in logistics management
  • Self- driven, the ability to drive improvements without strong supervision
  • International mind-set and desire to work in a multi-cultural organisation
  • Possess a natural curiosity to challenge status quo
  • Good communication, relationship and networking skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to deal with high stress levels and ability to multi-task with limited time and resources in a structured manner
  • Experience working with IFS (ERP system) would be an advantage
  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Fluent in English – written and spoken

You will occasionally be required to work outside of office hours to provide 24/7 support to the rigs.
