Job Description

The job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Responsible for the machining of engine parts using Computerised Numerically Control (CNC) machines such as lathes and milling machines
Responsible for loading parts, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburing and inspection of parts for conformance to specification
Studies and interprets reuse and salvage guidelines to determine dimensionsand tolerances of finished work, sequence of operation and set up requirements
Measures and marks dimensions on finished work pieces as a guide for subsequent machining
Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust machine, with capabilities/controls to ensure quality of finished work. Reports all machine malfunctions to immediate supervisor
Maintains a high level of safety awareness and others around him/her

Required Skills or Experience

Minimum trade qualification or recognised degree/diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Good knowledge of operating CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines in a heavy equipment environment
Good knowledge and application of precision measuring equipment Instruments include callipers, ID & OD micrometers, depth gauges and indications
Very strong computer skills
Good knowledge of CAD (Computer Aided Design)
Knowledge of CAM (Computer Aided Manufacture) would be an advantage
Excellent communication skills
Attentive to details
Must be a team player, proactive and a self-starter
