Job Description
Job Title: Director Of Medical Affairs
Job Purpose
• The Director of Medical Affairs is responsible for sharing information and education both internally to help company staff, medical professionals and the public better understand the products and services of the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
• Monitor the quality of patient care, evaluating the facility for safety, efficiency and adherence to health care regulations
• Play a lead role in the development and implementation of cutting-edge clinical services in the hospital
• Serve as a liaison between the Hospital and the college of health sciences, assisting the Deputy CEO, Academic and clinical services, in the training of all categories of health professionals within the hospital
• Lead in the development of medical equipment and technology
• Promote high professional standards within the hospital
• Act as a liaison between medical staff, management and the public
• Report directly to the Deputy CEO, Academic and Clinical Services
• Undertake other duties commensurate with this role
Qualification Required & Experience
Candidates seeking this position must:
• Be a medical doctor with a professional postgraduate medical qualification (at least Senior Specialist level or its equivalent).
• Be registered with a professional regulatory body and have a professional license to practise medicine
• Have at least 8 years of post-professional qualification working experience, 4 of which must be in a senior management position in a medical institution

• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to relate well to all levels of users
• Possess strong leadership skills and motivational skills
• Must have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to arrive methodical process of problem solving which includes considering a variety of solutions
• Must be able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Must be willing to be flexible with work schedule to get job done, as required
• Must be able to manage multiple projects and meet established deadlines
• Must be a team player as well as self-motivated to be able to work independently and possess a customer focused mentality
• Must possess a strong work ethic, be trustworthy and maintain a high degree of integrity
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office skills in Word, Excel and Access
