Maternal, Adolescent & Child Health (MatCH) is a division of the Wits Health Consortium under the School of Public Health of the University of the Witwatersrand. MatCH is a consortium partner implementing the EQUIP project. EQUIP is an international grant to implement projects in five key solution areas – innovative models of ART service delivery; innovative approaches to support viral load scale-up; strategies and technologies to more effectively identify and link patients to treatment, foster ongoing adherence and retention; identify approaches that respond to the needs of key populations and promising “Test and Start” strategies in countries in Africa, South East Asia and the Caribbean.

Job Description

Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator – Ref 1154

MatCH is looking for the following staff to join their EQUIP Team based in Ghana.

Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator- Ref: 1154

Main Purpose of the Job

The incumbent will support a team in providing M&E technical support in Ghana selected sites located in various regions.

Key Performance Areas

  • Provide M&E technical support
  • Capacity Building and training
  • Reporting and generation of Quality Improvement Plans
  • Conduct Quality Assurance and Improve the Quality of data
  • Improve Data Management systems
  • Participate in site surveys, assessments and audits
  • Effective self-management and performance ownership

Required minimum education and training

  • Completion of relevant tertiary level education
  • Fluency in local languages and level IV in English

Minimum work experience

  • At least two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in data management, research and/or monitoring and evaluation

Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities

  • Senior Education Mathematics or Statistics
  • Must be willing to travel extensively at short notice
  • Drivers licence with driving experience
  • Very good computer skills (MS office Package)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Public speaking and ability to conduct presentations in a professional environment
  • Self-motivated
  • Able to work independently and work as part of a diverse and multi-disciplinary team
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good understanding of data systems and global health indicators (USAID)
  • Data Auditing experience

This is a three month fixed term contract.
