Job Description

Position Title: Business Development Associate

Reporting to: Advisory & Consulting Team Lead
Location: Fourth Street, East Legon, Accra
Working Hours: 8am – 5pm (Monday – Friday, occasionally overtime and work on weekends will be
required)
Start Date: 12 March 2018

Position Overview

We are looking for a capable candidate to come in and immediately make an impact within our organization. We are a recruiting for staff who can assist in various departments of our rapidly growing organisation. Duties to be performed include Research, Technical Assistance (TA) to businesses, writing Business Plans etc.
Candidate should be ready to work outside Accra from time to time.

Responsibilities

To achieve the desired results, the Business Development Associate will be expected to do the following:

Design and host various business training courses for clients
Conduct online and face-to-face research to write complete business plans for clients
May be required to perform simple website design activities
Perform other miscellaneous business development services for clients
Meet with business owners in Accra and other major centers in Ghana to determine their business needs
Travel to various regions of Ghana to meet with farmer groups and processing cooperatives and gain an understanding of the quantity and quality of product that they offer
Meet with international exporters and buyers to understand their procurement policies, quality standards, charges, etc. and outline the steps required in order to reach a trade agreement with them
Proactively seek out the resources and individuals needed to gain the knowledge required to succeed in assignments given
Keep track of all expenses associated with assignment-related travel, accommodation, etc.
Present findings to the leader of the MBC Africa Advisory and Consulting team on a weekly basis through written or verbal check-ins
Prepare and submit final market research reports for clients and the MBC Africa Advisory and Consulting team

Key Skills & Qualifications

Compensation
An intern for 12 months followed with a renewable contract of 12 months when candidate performs well.
First 3 months of internship is unpaid
After he/she will be given an allowance to cater for transport/ communication
After 12 months of the internship, a performance review will be conducted on the candidate and will be given a salaried 12 months contract and
associated benefits
