Job Description

Position Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Associate (Consulting)

Reporting to: Advisory and Management Consulting Team Lead
Location: Fourth Street, East Legon, Accra
Start Date: 12th March, 2018

JOB OVERVIEW

The Monitoring and Evaluation Associate (M&E Associate) will be providing lead and support in monitoring and evaluating all MBC Africa programs.
You will ensure adequate processes are implemented, tools are used to make proper managerial decisions, and accountability at all levels. You will play a role in the promotion of key learnings for the improvement of projects and for wider leaning of the organization.
Suitable Candidate should be conversant with the implementation of Standard Social Impact Assessment Practices and ESG Impact Evaluation Tools which are essential to organization’s mode of operations.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

To achieve the desired results, the monitoring and evaluation associate will be expected to do the following;
Develop and strengthen monitoring, inspection and evaluation procedures
Monitor the sustainability of project results
Conduct capacity assessment of existing monitoring and evaluation systems as well as developing indicators for monitoring the strategy of projects
Provide inputs and information statistics for periodic reports to the project manager

Participate in project reviews and planning workshop and assist the project manager in preparing relevant reports
Contribute in ensuring that evaluations are designed and carried out with quality processes in line with MBC Africa’s priorities and strategies, and that evaluations’ findings, recommendations and reports are used to improve performance and are effectively disseminated to the intended audience.
Provide feedback to the project manager on strategies and activities
Suggest strategies to the project management team for improving the efficiency and effectiveness by identifying bottlenecks in completing project
activities and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottlenecks.
Ensure achievement of effective communication among teams/partners required in carrying out integrated planning of research, monitoring and
evaluation activities within Perform other duties as required.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitoring
Develop project monitoring plan of the programs in line with its outputs/ consult with team, management and partners when applicable.
Coordinate the collection of data (baseline) against agreed indicators for projects
Ensure quality of data collected by all teams handling the academy program.
Provide feedback to management, partners and program teams on projects’ performance based on monitoring data findings.
Evaluation
Assist and Lead in designing, coordinating and conducting project evaluations (mid-term and end-line).
Assist and Lead in designing and conducting Post Implementation Monitoring Survey.
Support team in designing and disseminating research studies by providing relevant input
Reporting and Documentation
Assist and Lead team in developing quarterly, six-month and annual reports
Develop and share field visit with all staff
Upload key reports to Dropbox for ease of access after review of the management
Standardize Reporting processes
Learning and Sharing
Share learning from M&E process with the wider team
Support project assistants in improving learning and sharing mechanisms
Promote culture of two way learning in the organisation

Key Skills & Qualifications

§ The ideal candidate will be a University graduate who has completed National Service Additional requirements:

COMPENSATION
The Organisation shall pay the Consultant based on advisory contracts executed. Consultant will invoice MBC Africa on a quarterly basis for honorary fees due.
Consultant is not entitled to monthly salaries but will be provided with allowances as per organisation’s internal fee policies for consultants to cover some basic needs to enable him/her execute his/her duties comfortably.
