Job Description

Job Title: Risk Management Officer

Job Purpose

To Develop and implement a Risk Management framework for the entire operations of the Microfin Rural Bank Limited and recommend strategies for managing the risks inherent in the operations of the bank.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Develop a risk management framework for the entire operations of the bank.

Ensure effective and efficient management of Operational Risk

Ensure effective and efficient management of Liquidity Risk.

Ensure effective and efficient management of Credit Risk

Ensure effective and efficient management of Interest Rate Risk

Ensure effective and efficient management of IT risk

Carry out periodic Assessment of Effectiveness of Controls identified in implementing the Risk Management Framework of the bank

Develop Risk Awareness program for Staff and Board

Required Skills or Experience

Required Competencies

High level of professionalism and integrity

A strategic thinker with drive

Results oriented

High level of quantitative and analytical skills

Minimum Qualification and Experience

1st in Degree in Accountancy, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, ACCA or CIMA

At least 3 years’ working experience in banking Operations particularly in rural banking

Good presentation and report writing skills

Good working knowledge of the T24 Banking software

Experience in Auditing and Risk Management

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel applications
