The Clinic has evolved along the “midway” philosophy of “always being midway to greater heights”. It has been transformed from an original 7-bed facility in a 2-bedroom rented house into a 30-bed facility in a modern clinic complex.
The Clinic is of high accredited standard providing clinical care to corporate bodies and individuals. Our aim is to become a conglomerate of multi-super specialty clinical institutes of international repute with excellent primary healthcare and opportunities for research and academic training.
Midway Clinic was set up on 6th August, 1980 by Dr. Joseph Ameni Quarshie, an Obstetrician Gynaecologist and Mrs. Alice Quarshie, an Entrepreneur, to provide high standard, cost effective and reasonable healthcare services to improve the health status of the community.
The Clinic was originally located at Abeka junction in a 2-bedroom rented house with a staff quarters. It had a 7-bed capacity with the bathroom being used as the major Theatre and the kitchen as the Labour Ward. The Clinic moved in October 1988 to its present location at Achimota with a 30-bed capacity and has since been expanding to provide quality healthcare.
The services of the clinic have over the years been more inclined towards Obstetrics and Gynaecology and General Medicine. We are known to provide total quality Women’s Healthcare and Maternity care. However, in pursuit of our mission other specialties have been introduced.
