Our Client,a sub-contractor to AngloGold Ashanti Limited, Obuasi Mine, specialized in mining development works. The Company operates at the Obuasi Mine.

A vacancy has arisen for a Mine Manager.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the key performance areas of this position will include overall responsibility for the management of an underground development contract in line with the companys vision and mission including, inter alia, the following:

 Achieving set targets in terms of production output
 Ensuring that the company operates profitably at the lowest possible costs
 Leading the mines safety, health and environmental programme to ensure attainment of the set standards
 Ensuring compliance with statutory mining regulations
 Sound management of human resources; recruitment and training of qualified staff
 Recognition and management of the mines relationship with the community and
 Ensuring that the business is optimized through a culture of innovativeness, team work and accountability
 Put in place systems to ensure best practices are employed

 

 

Job Qualification Requirements

Min Education Level: Masters

Work Experience: 3-5 Years

 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

 A degree or diploma in mining engineering
 A post graduate qualification such as a Masters of Science (MSc) or Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or its equivalent would be an added advantage
 Mine Managers Certificate of Competency
 Valid Ghanaian Driving License is essential
 Considerable knowledge in MS Office software package Excel, Word, PowerPoint
 Good knowledge of mining safety regulations and best practices
 Previous Mines Rescue experience will have an added advantage
 A minimum of 10 years relevant practical experience in underground mining operations and have operated at management level for at least 5 years
 Strong leadership, analytical and problem solving skills as well as the ability to achieve results through others are essential.
