Job Description
African Underground Mining Services Ghana (AUMS), currently West Africa’s largest and leading trackless undergound mining contractor is seeking to recruit a qualified Mining Engineer for its Akwaaba Underground Project at Chirano in the Western Region of Ghana.
Location: Site Based – Akwaaba Underground Mine, Chirano, Western Region, Ghana
Reports to: Site Manager
Remuneration/Other Packages:
- Competitive remuneration commensurate with experience
- Meals and accommodation for single status provided whilst on site
- Travel provided to and from work
- Person recruited must be prepared to work a 6 days on duty and 3 days off duty roster, however, this is subject to change depending on company requirements

Required Skills or Experience
- Must have B.Sc. Mining Engineering or as a minimum a Diploma in Mining Engineering from a recognised University
- Minimum of 2-4 years proven Underground Mining experience
- Experience in Surpac, AutoCAD Software, EPS and Microsoft Office with a strong knowledge in Excel
- Must have knowledge of underground mining techniques for both Development and Production activities
- Must have knowledge of Mining & Explosive Regulations
- Must have excellent work ethic
- Should be a safety conscious person
- Must have valid Ghanaian Driving License
- Written and oral fluency in English
