1. Superintendent, Support Services – Ahafo Operations

The successful candidate will report to the Health, Safety and Loss Prevention (HSLP) Manager and will carry out requirements of the Integrated and HSLP Management Systems for the Ahafo operations.

Essential Duties:

Administer Newmont programs to prevent accidents/incidents and loss at Ahafo
Work with other site departments to reduce the incidence of accidents at Ahafo
Manage the weekly, monthly and yearly HSLP internal and external reporting processes
Educate department managers on hazard identification, risk management, safety rules and regulations, trends and statistics and legal compliance
Participate in hazard identification and risk assessment activities

Required Skills or Experience

A Master’s degree/degree/Graduate Diploma in Health, Safety and Loss Prevention
Must have a minimum of 5 years’ working experience in health and safety field in an extractive industry. Two years or more of management experience is desirable
Thorough understand of Safety Management Systems including OHSAS 18001
Sound knowledge of risk management and loss prevention processes
Accident/incident investigation experience with auditing qualifications

2. Senior Mechanical Engineer – Ahafo Operations

The successful candidate will report to the Project Engineering Superintendent. She/he will be responsible for all mechanical and piping engineering design to produce complete engineering design to produce complete engineering deliverables, including calculation, drawing, design criteria, specification, bill of quantity, scope of work and equipment data sheet.

Essential Duties:

Coordinate engineering design works to various disciples and engineering consultants
Prepare engineering design schedule and establish priority
Formulate mechanical design criteria, specifications and equipment specifications
Perform mechanical and piping design calculations and detailed drawings using applicable software and AutoCAD

Required Skills or Experience

Minimum of a degree in Mechanical Engineering
At least 10 years working experience in mining or other heavy industrial projects, with 6 years in engineering design
Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision and in a team
Capable of using appropriate mechanical, piping calculation software, MS project and AutoCAD

3. Radio Maintenance Technician- Ahafo Operations

The successful candidate will report to the Supervisor, Radio & Dispatch Maintenance. She/he be responsible for ensuring that the FMS, LAS, and associated radio-frequency technology equipment are kept in good working order to optimize mine production, improve communications, increase safety and reduce costs.

Essential Duties:

Complete radio coverage survey to determine location of repeaters and towers
Provide equipment installation on fuel trucks and mining equipment
Conduct software troubleshooting diagnostics
Update data base every time a component is replaced, repaired, discard, etc

Required Skills or Experience

A degree in Electronics or related subjects preferred
Must have experience in radio equipment or electronics
Excellent knowledge in Radios
Good leadership and communication skills

4. Community Relations Supervisor, Exploration – Akyem Project

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, supervising and controlling Newmont Ghana Akyem Project community relations programs related to both District and Regional Exploration.

Essential Duties:

Liaise with Exploration Geology for program of activities including maps indicating targeted areas and maintain regular updates as and when necessary
Plan and implement Exploration Community Relations work according to programs provided Exploration/Geology
Facilitate the development of good working relationship between Newmont Exploration/Geology and host communities
Develop and review annually Exploration Land Access Procedure and guidelines consistent with Newmont approved guide for Land Access and Compensation (GLAC)
Develop community development plans to provide framework for supporting developmental needs of exploration communities

Required Skills or Experience

A Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or similar disciplines, with 3 years senior level experience in community relations
Must have 5-7 years’ working experience in the resource industry, including stakeholder communication, negotiation, resettlement and community development etc
Adequate knowledge of Newmont’s community relations or social responsibility policies, rules and regulations
Good communications, interpersonal relationship, negotiation and leadership skills
Excellent conflict resolution and management of a high order to avoid disruptions from exploration programs
