Job Description

Co-ordinate and oversee the research activities of the Authority to ensure effective implementation of Government Policies and Regulations in accordance with the requirements of the NPA Act, 2005 Act 691

The candidate shall:

Collect, analyze and present reports, facts and statistics relevant to developing policies for effective utilization by NPA and Government
Conduct Research into topics of interest in the petroleum downstream sector to provide basis for effective and efficient planning
Evaluate research findings and its implications for long-term plans, policies and programmes in the downstream sector
Gather, compile, develop and analyze data for NPA and issue reports accordingly. Train field staff in techniques, methods and procedures for research survey
Collect data for analysis of pricing structure of refined products and demand forecast projection
Participate in the process of preparation, review/update of petroleum products standards and specifications and make recommendations
Develop operating codes of practice for the petroleum supply chain operations
Collate and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports for the Authority in accordance with the requirements of the NPA Act 2005, Act 691

Required Skills or Experience

The candidate must have;

Advertisement

BSc./MSc. in Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science or any relevant qualification
Minimum of 5 years experience in a relevant industry
Multi tasking in a fast-paced environment, completing projects/quotas within time and quality constraints
Highly organized individual with strong interpersonal skills as well as proven competence in Research and Development
Report writing and analytical skills
Focus on achieving results to required standards and developing skills and knowledge
Computer literacy (Microsoft word, Microsoft excel and Microsoft power point)
Basic management, negotiation and people management skills
Presentation and policy implementation skills
Budgeting and financial literacy skills
