National Population Council coordinates the implementation of the policy and programmes, fosters functional linkages and harmonises population issues among sectoral ministries, institutions and agencies at the national, regional and district levels
Job Description
Object of the Position:
Under the general policy direction of the Governing Council, the Executive Director plans, manages and co-ordinates programmes and activities of the NPC Secretariat
Advise the Council on policies for the achievement of the objectives of the Council and implement decisions of the Council
Provide overall leadership, co-ordination, direction and supervision of the operations of the NPC Secretariat
Responsible for the day-to-day administration and financial management of the NPC Secretariat
Regularly prepare and submit relevant technical papers and reports to the Council
Responsible for the preparation of annual budget and effective financial management of the Council
Establish effective linkages with sector Ministries, Departments and Agencies to harmonise the work of the Council
Liaise with development partners with the view to regulate and co-ordinate the forms and levels of resources mobilisation for population activities
Speak on population issues on behalf of the Council
Required Skills or Experience
A Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Population Studies, Demography or Business Administration from a recognised University
Must have not less than twelve (12) years post-qualification relevant work experience, three (3) years which should be in senior management position
A Doctorate Degree will be added advantage
Applicants should not be more than 55 years at the time of application

Strong computer literacy skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Knowledge of the Financial Administrative Act, Public Procurement Act and Internal Audit Agency Act
