Job Description

Job Title: Records Officer

Job Purpose

To provide technical and operational support in the management of the records of the entity.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collates input for th formulation of policies in the management of the records of the entity
• Implements records management programmes and activities of the entity
• Collects inputs for the development of guidelines, procedures and processes on the management of records of the entity
• Collects data for the development of guidelines, procedures and processes on the management of records of the entity
• Ensures the storage and retrieval of records
• Provides support at the unit level in the management of records of the entity
• Ensures the storage and retrieval of records
• Provides support at the unit level in the management of records of the entity
• Supervises and appraises the performance of subordinate staff
• Collects inputs for the preparation of budget and work plan for the unit
• Collects data for the preparation of annual and other periodic reports

Qualification Required & Experience

• A minimum of a Master’s Degree from an accredited tertiary institution in records Management, information studies, Archival studies or any other relevant field
• A minimum of 1 year post Bachelor’s Degree relevant work experience in a reputable organisation
• Must pass a competitive selection interview conducted by the entity in collaboration with the public services commission
