1. Database Support Staff

Job Description

The successful candidate will report to the Geological Framework Manager. She/he will support the Global Exploration Database (GED) team in managing GED Databases.

Essential Duties:

  • Provide general support for Geographical Information Systems (GIS) data and applications
  • Help manage drill hole and surface geochemistry databases in Microsoft SQL Server
  • Daily monitoring of schedule jobs on the SQL Server to ensure they are executed successfully
  • Monitor GED web applications used by geologist and call for help when they go down
  • Support with the training of geologist in the use of new GED tools which may introduce

Required Skills or Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geology, Geography or related field
  • Ability to interpret and write SQL queries and stored procedures as needed
  • One to two years’ experience using Microsoft SQL Server (2005, 2008)
  • General working knowledge of software integration in a Windows environment
  • Knowledge in GIS principles, its application to mapping, and methods of capturing, processing and disseminating GIS data

 

2. Senior Compensation Analyst

Job Description

This position requires two candidates. The successful candidates will report to the Compensation and Data Integrity Manager. She/he will be responsible for analyzing, recommending and monitoring competitive compensation programs, policies and procedures consistent with the company’s global remuneration strategy, assuring internal equity and external competitiveness.

Essential Duties:

  • Monitor compensation market trends, analyze salary survey results and recommend overall salary increase (merit, equity and/or promotion) salary structure movements (if necessary)
  • Conduct and complete salary market surveys, continually reviews and adjust survey matches
  • Support position evaluation process in conjunction with the Compensation Manager perform job evaluation using the job evaluation point factor system (HAY methodology)
  • Assist in creating or preparing rolling out new or revised compensation plans
  • Point of contact for regional and departmental labor cost calculation and modeling

Required Skills or Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Finance or Statistics
  • Minimum 7 years Human Resource experience, with at least 5 years directly related to ccompensation
  • Experience with heavy industry, mining, energy, or construction preferred
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as a probability and statistical interferences, and math fundamental
  • Extensive experience with statistical analysis and remuneration systems

 

3. Deputy Site Services Coordinator – Akyem Project

The successful candidate will coordinate a wide range of contracted site services to ensure NGRL contractual interests are well managed.

Essential Duties:

  •  Assist with departmental work schedule(s)
  • Conduct periodic inspections of dining areas, accommodation etc, to ensure contractor adheres to company and legislative policies and procedures
  • Identify areas requiring improvements in procedures relating to the site accommodation, camps accommodation and transport services
  • Ensure that all building such as residential, recreational, offices and accommodation are clean
  • Maintain knowledge of and compliance with all company policies, standard operating procedures and other documents that are appropriate to the work place

Required Skills or Experience

 

  • A Diploma or Degree from a recognized higher in Facility Management & Hospitality Management
  • Ten years’ management in hotel, catering and or hospitality industry
  • Additional certificate in Project Management will be an advantage
  • Good problem solving skills, ability to work independently and to take initiatives
  • Profession in computer skills

 

4. Shovel & Drill Welder – Ahafo Mine

Job Description

The successful candidate will report to the Supervisor, Welding. She/he will contribute to the attainment of Ahafo’s equipment availability and production objectives by providing safe, environmentally compliant and cost effective maintenance welding and fabrication services.

Essential Duties:

  •  Provide a broad range of welding and fabrication services in support of mining and Auxiliary Equipment maintenance activities
  • Select and use appropriate metals, consumable and processes as directed by associated supervision
  • Complete scheduled and unscheduled structural overhauls and rebuilds as directed by competent supervision and/or management
  • Maintain welding and maintenance work areas in safe, clean and well managed condition

Required Skills or Experience

 

  • Trade certification, apprenticeship or other recognized welding training program
  • Minimum of three years of maintenance welding trade experience repairing and maintaining industrial or mining equipment
  • Must possess a Ghanaian driver’s license and experience in driving a light vehicle and/or welding services truck in a mining industrial
  • Ability to work safety with minimum supervision
  • Current welding certification based on all internationally recognized welding test (e.g. AWS D1.1)
