1. Maintenance Planner – Akyem Project

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, schedule, budget, coordinate, monitor and review all maintenance activities and processes necessary to deliver optimum equipment availability.

Essential Duties:

  • Forecast long-term material requirements in conjunction with the Supply Chain Management
  • Plan, estimate and prepare warehouse materials and major tools
  • Facilitate weekly maintenance scheduling meetings
  • Organize staging of materials and tooling in line with the weekly plan
  • Capture all requests and completion information in the maintenance system
  • Filter, prioritize and arrange for the approval of work requests from all sources
  • Ensure work history is captured electronically

Required Skills or Experience

 

  • A first degree in Mechanical Engineering (or other technical discipline) or equivalent combination of education
  • Minimum of five years’ working experience in an applicable maintenance trade with at least one year supervisory experience as a maintenance foreman
  • Experience with Automated Maintenance Systems (AMMS)
  • Strong understanding of maintenance, materials management and operations
  • Solid understanding of resource management, cost management and budgeting
  • Willingness to work with others to ensure a functional maintenance of systems
  • Experience with the use of ERP based equipment maintenance functionality

 

2. Senior Maintenance Planner – Akyem Project

Job Description

The successful candidate will prepare and assimilate yearly budgets and business, long-range plans, monthly forecasts and special accounting projects.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain equipment registration and service schedules for the Mining Maintenance Department
  • Manage work orders, application part list system, operating statistics in conjunction with the cost of equipment overhauls for budget costs and equipment performance
  • Review monthly forecast information; analyze data versus year-to-date data and prior year budget
  • Maintain technical accounting knowledge and current awareness of new developments and techniques
  • Create a suitable work environment to motivate employees and contractors to achieve optimum effectiveness, productivity and operating costs

Required Skills or Experience

 

  • A first degree in Mechanical or Mining Engineering
  • Minimum of five years working experience in heavy equipment maintenance in mining and 4 years of supervisory experience in heavy equipment mining or an equivalent combination of training and experience are necessary
  • Knowledge in Minestar, Modular Dispatch, VIMS and Ellipse
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, presentation and conflict resolution skills

 

3. Radio Maintenance Supervisor – Akyem Project

Job Description

The successful candidate will ensure that Akyem’s Fleet Management System associated radio equipment is kept in good working order to optimize mine production, improve communications, increase safety and reduce operating costs.

Essential Duties:

  • Conduct radio coverage and GPS survey to determine location of repeaters and towers
  • Relocate wireless access points as required
  • Review quality of work of the onboard FMS equipment
  • Effectively communicate solutions and major problems to users and stakeholders
  • Perform minor components repairs, report solutions and major problems
  • Conduct onboarding and wireless troubleshooting
  • Coordinate with supervisors to grant permission to stop equipment for corrective maintenance

Required Skills or Experience

 

  • A Technical degree in Electronics or related field
  • Minimum of five years’ working experience in radio equipment or electronics
  • Knowledge in radios and disposition to work outdoors
  • Strong leadership skills and a safety focus person
  • Experience in radio equipment or electronics is highly preferable

 

4. Radio Maintenance Technician – Akyem Project

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the Jigsaw Fleet Management Systems (FMS) and associated radio equipment are kept in good working conditions in order optimize mine production, improve communications, increase safety and reduce costs.

Essential Duties:

  •  Provide programming and corrective maintenance through:
  1. PM’s execution and checklist filling
  2. Complete radio coverage survey to determine location of repeaters and towers
  3. Relocating wireless access points (repeater trailers)
  4. Perform GPS coverage surveys
  5. Minor components repairs
  6. Quality of the onboard works
  7. Communicate solutions and major problems
  • Conduct onboarding and wireless troubleshooting
  • Coordinate with supervisors to grant permission to stop equipment for corrective maintenance
  • Undertake general logistics management

5. Process Maintenance Machinist – Ahafo Mine

Job Description

The successful candidate will report to the Mechanical Supervisor and will be responsible all practical and technical work relevant to the trade is completed in a safely, timely and reliable manner. Provide practical and technical assistance relevant to the trade to the supervisor.

Essential Duties:

  • Sets up and operate variety of machine tools and fits
  • Assemble parts to fabricate or repair machine tools and maintain industrial machines by applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout and machining procedures
  • Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment or repair
  • Study sketches, machine parts or specifications to determine type and dimensions of metal stock required

  • A certificate from a Technical Institution
  • Five years working experience in the mining industry – process plant
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to troubleshoot, check tolerances on bearing and use precision measuring tool
  • Must operate lathe machine, milling machine and radial drill
  • Excellent knowledge and practice of general housekeeping

 

6. Condition Monitoring Technician – Ahafo Mine

Job Description

The successful candidate will report to the Scheduling Engineer. She/he will carry out condition monitoring of the plant through an on-line and off-line acquisition techniques and data analysis. Provide practical and technical assistance relevant to the trade to the supervisor.

Essential Duties:

  •  Maintain various condition monitoring equipment and data in the computerized system
  • Propose measures to improve reliability and availability of plant rotating equipment and minimize failures
  • Routine condition monitoring tasks on all the rotating equipment’s and other tools according to the established schedules and per the plant requirements
  • Conduct extensive analysis on the vibration and other data collected to diagnose/troubleshooting rotating machinery problems and recommend remedial measures
  • Report any major changes in equipment condition to the Reliability engineer

Required Skills or Experience

 

  • A Diploma or equivalent technical qualification in Engineering (Mechanical or Instrumentation preferred)
  • Specialized training in vibration analysis, NDT, thermography and other condition monitoring techniques with a minimum of 6 years in the field of condition monitoring in the Mining Industry
  • Working experience of computer based on-line & off-line condition monitoring systems (Hardware & Software)
  • Knowledge of high speed complex rotating equipment and their maintenance techniques, repairs, diagnostics and fault analysis (Pumps, motors, gearboxes, turbo compressors, screw compressors, Extruders, Reciprocating Compressors etc)
7. Mine Operations Shift Supervisor – Ahafo Mine

The successful candidate will report to the Mine Operations General Foreman and will be responsible for directing and controlling daily and long-term activities for the mining activities in the open pit area under limited supervision.

Essential Duties:

  • Direct and oversee all mining activities such as areas to be mined, developed and rate of development
  • Control mineral quality and tonnage, stockpile and dump ares maintained within engineered limits and capacities
  • Responsible for the distribution of labor, supplies and equipment
  • Create a suitable work environment to motivate staff, employees and contractors to achieve optimum effectiveness, productivity and operating costs
  • Conducts safety meetings, staff meetings and safety inspections

Required Skills or Experience

 

  • A first degree in Mine Engineering or related field
  • Minimum three to five years of mining supervisor experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience are necessary
  • Ability to identify and analyze organizational needs
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, consultation, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Must currently hold Ghana statutory certification for First Aid, Blasting and Mine Foreman
8. Process Maintenance Mechanical Technician – Ahafo Mine

Job Description

The successful candidate will report to the Mechanical Supervisor. She/he will ensure that all practical and technical work relevant to the trade is completed in a safely, timely and reliable manner. Provide practical and technical assistance relevant to the supervisor.

Essential Duties:

  •  Overhauling of different types of pumps, gearboxes and other equipment, Mill motor and its bearing change out
  • Conduct routine equipment running checks
  • Check and replace spider and bush and rime liners
  • Complete rebuild crusher main mantle and dust seal change out Measure, remove crusher hyroset and repair
  • Remove and replace concave of the crusher
  • Installate MPS balance cylinder and services
  • Apron feeders and its accessories repairs

  • A Certificate from a Technical Institution
  • Five years working experience in mining industry-process plant
  • Must be able to read and write English
  • Ability to troubleshoot, check tolerances on bearing and use precision measuring tool
  • Able to conduct mill motor change out as well as its bearings during overhaul
  • Capable to successfully depressurized all hydraulic units and carry out maintenance jobs
