Ahafo Mine:

The Ahafo mine has made significant sustainable development projects to its host Ahafo communities. Job Description

Job Title: Haul Truck Driver

PURPOSE:

To operate CAT 785 haul trucks,Dozers,Graders & Excavators safely, efficiently and effectively in mining operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Applicant is required to meet the following duties:

• Attend and pass the required 240 hour training course in order to operate a haul truck safely and efficiently to sustain production.
• Receive, understand and act on the directions of Supervision, with regard to safe and efficient operation of haul trucks.
• Be conversant and comply with the regulations and directives governing pit operations, as defined by the NGGL Mining Department induction, and as may be issued from time to time.
• Be aware of, implement, and when required, have input into all due safety, environmental and operational policies and practices, in relation to work assigned, including but not confined to all applicable SOP’s.
• Accurately and reliably compile and submit reports such as equipment checklists and production data cards as required.
• Be capable and willing to participate in responses to emergency situations.
• Be flexible and accept other work as per the varying demands of Mining Department
• Actively participate in all recommended training, competency assessments and continuous improvement schemes.

WORKING CONDITIONS / REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:

• Site based at Ahafo on a 12 hour rotating shift roster.

TECHNICAL SKILLS, EDUCATION/TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

• The ability to clearly communicate in the English language, i.e. to read, speak and understand instructions in English.
• Experience in the mining industry as a haul truck operator highly regarded.
• Must have experience in driving a truck in accordance with Ghana License “D” requirements.
