Job Title: Mine Maintenance Senior Planner

This position directly influences the effective maintenance of Drilling Equipment in Ahafo’ s Surface Mining Operations

Purpose

  • The role develops asset strategies; develop critical spares based on RCM approach and reviews stock levels of critical spares to ensure availability,periodically reviews asset strategies to account for changes in operating context, supports the generation of annual budgets to support the delivery of asset strategies, planned shutdowns and major repairs and monitors expenditures in area of responsibility.

Essential Duties

  • Accept personal responsibility for the health and safety of every employee under or assigned to his/her supervision.
  • Assure that applicable environmental regulations and compliance programs are implemented
  • Reviews work orders for planned flag, scheduled start date and released status, ensuring the work orders, electronic asset management (SAP) system and the maintenance scheduling tool match with the repair duration, resource requirements, and materials and tooling requirements.
  • Using the maintenance scheduling tool in SAP, properly sequence all work order activities, assets, resource requirements into a daily (24hr) schedule which will be utilized by the day and night shift front line supervisors to facilitate orderly execution of all repair activities.
  • Maintain a minimum of a four day rolling maintenance scheduled based within the current weekly schedule
  • Create a wash bay facility schedule which matches the required sequencing as developed with the scheduling tool, distributing the schedule to the operations and maintenance supervisors.

Training & Experience

  • Technical or Mechanical background. Preferred BSc or HND in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years Maintenance practical and/or planning experience through computerized maintenance management system
  • Strong Knowledge in MS Office Suite (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, MS Outlook
  • High level of communication skills – verbal and written.
  • High level of PC Skills and computer literacy.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and consultation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to identify and analyze organizational needs
  • Strong initiative and decision making ability.
  • Ability to prepare strategic plans
