The Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NRA) is an independent regulatory body established by the NRA Act, 2015 (Act 895) and began operations in January 2016. The NRA has a statutory responsibility for regulating civilian use of nuclear and other radioactive materials in medicine, industry, agriculture, education and research in Ghana. This is to ensure the protection of people and the environment from the harmful effects of radiation.

Job Description

Job Title: Regulatory Officer – Stress Analysis 

The candidate will be responsible for the review and assessment of stress analysis computations for nuclear installations, including reactor vessel and reactor vessel internal components as well as replacement components.  To fulfill this responsibility, the person will perform calculations and apply relevant industrial codes to the design and analysis of these components.  He/She will also be involved in developing regulations and guidelines in addition to conducting inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Minimum of Masters in mechanical or nuclear engineering or other related subjects with experience in numerical analysis (e.g., finite element analysis).
