PEG delivers Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) asset-based financing to consumers who lack both access to reliable electricity and formal banking services. PEG’s anchor product – a basic solar home system that includes three lights, a phone charger and a radio – allows consumers living on $5-10 per day to access clean light for working and studying after hours, avoid harmful air pollution from kerosene based lighting solutions, and also build credit for additional products and services over time.

Job Description

Job Title: Repayment Manager

The Position

PEG has grown from 12 employees in Ghana, to 400+ employees across Ghana and Ivory Coast in the last two years.  In addition to this, we have 200+ commission based sales agents, 40+ service centers in Ghana, and over a dozen investors and grantors. As part of a rapidly growing organization, PEG is looking for a new member of its management team responsible for driving the commercial strategies to meet revenue targets from the customer base.  The role will drive the identification, development and implementation of all the commercial opportunities driving sustainable growth.

The successful candidate has an entrepreneurial mindset that thrives in a start-up environment, a creative strategist with excellent organizational abilities. The role spans CVM (Customer Value Management), in-life customer channel management and Mobile Money, and requires the ability to create partnerships to develop a thriving mobile money ecosystem.

Excellent leadership and people management skills are required to manage 3 Direct Reports with an overall team of 25 employees, office and field based

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth

  • Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams (marketing, sales, customer service etc.)

  • Build and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders

  • Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management and board

The successful candidate must have:

  • Experience of at least 5 years in Telco, Finance or FMCG in a commercial and operations role.

  • Bachelor or Masters’ Degree in Engineering, Economics, Management or a related field

  • Have experience in startup environment and in Africa

  • Have great analytical skills, background in finance will be a plus

  • Understand the mobile money environment be innovative and comfortable to challenge the status quo
