Plan Ghana latest Vacancy: Project Manager

Dynamic and result oriented person for the CIDA Girls and Youth Empowerment for an Entrepreneurship Project for a four year period to fill the position.

The Position:
Reports to administratively to the Program Support Manager and technically to the livelihood Advisor and the Learning Advisor and is located in the Country Office, Accra.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the CIDA Girls and Youth Empowerment for Entrepreneurship Project Extension Unit to plan and implement the project so as to achieve the project’s objectives
Facilitate the preparation of a detailed implementation plan with partners to guide project implementation
Prepare partnership agreements that link Plan with local organizations in pursuit of common objectives
Organize regular review and support meetings with partners to enable resolution of issues and attainment of project results or outcome
Ensure partners are accountable for the use of donor funds and their relationship with groups and organizations within project location continuously improve
Ensure all project purchases are done in compliance with Plan and CIDA procedures, and with active participation of right holders to assure quality
Facilitate the capacity building and utilization of skills of rights holders (individuals, groups and organizations) to assure project sustainability
Ensure gender equity and environmental sustainability during project implementation
Manage project budget in close consultation with the Grants and Finance Departments
Prepare and submit timely project reports as specified in the Grant Agreement Document (GAD) and also directed by the Grants Department
Facilitate project evaluations and assessment of results

Required Skills or Experience

Minimum Requirements:
Academic Qualification:

A minimum of University degree in Development Studies, Social Work, Education etc
Proven Experience:
At least 3-5 years work experience in youth training and community-based entrepreneurial projects
Demonstrable experience of poverty reduction and sustainable livelihood projects management
Demonstrable experience of youth empowerment programmes/projects
At least three years work experience in NGO sector especially in an internationally community-centered development
Previous experience in managing similar CIDA projects will be an advantage

Ability to facilitate participation processes for all stakeholders for implementing development activities
Strong team building skills
Effective planning and organizing with all stakeholders
Ability to bring together different stakeholders to achieve results
Travel requirements:
This position entails 60% travelling within Plan’s program areas
