The Private Sector Malaria Prevention Project (PSMP) is a two-year project funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and implemented by Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (CCP). The project is designed to increase commercial sector distribution of LLINs through market channels.
The goals of the project are to design and implement a workplace/employer-based subsidized LLIN distribution program, to design and pilot-test an activity to increase commercial sector distribution of LLINs through market channels, and to design and implement an advocacy campaign to promote greater and more substantive engagement of the private sector in LLIN distribution.
Job Description
Job Title: Drivers (4 Positions)
Job Summary
The Driver will be responsible for transportation of project vehicles, maintaining clear and comprehensive records, as well as providing relevant administrative support. The drivers will report to the Finance and Administrative Officer.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide transportation services to project personnel and project-related activities
• Suggest recommendations for maintenance for good vehicle operations
• Maintain records of mileage and other transportation facts
• Ensure proper and up-to-date documentation of vehicle movement and other services. Provide administrative support to project (e.g, collecting and delivering messages/packages, assisting with all relevant transactions).
Qualification Required & Experience
• Driving certificate – clean license.
• Five or more years of driving experience.
• Safe driving skills.
• Strong people skills
• Solid knowledge of Ghanaian culture and geography
• highly motivated with ability to problem-solve.
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
• Familiarity with common administrative tasks
• Attention to detail
• Strong oral and written English communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• A valid Driver’s license issued by the Ghana Driver and Vehicles Licensing Authority (DVLA)
• Basic mechanical skills
• Five or more years of driving experience with demonstrated safe driving skills
• Good knowledge of Ghanaian culture and geography
• Good organization and time management skills
• Familiarity with common administrative tasks
• Good oral and written language and ability to communicate in the common Ghanaian languages
• A warm and respectful character
