Ghana University Press: Chief Executive Officer

The Public Universities of Ghana, under the umbrella of Vice Chancellors Ghana are looking for a qualified Ghanaian to manage a viable publishing company.

She/he will be accountable to the Governing Board:

1. Lead the Ghana Universities Press to assume its place as the press of Choice in the publishing industry
2. Make the Press a self-financing independent organization
3. Produce and execute Strategic and Business Plans
4. Provide effective and efficient leadership in professional
5. Develop and implement the policies and procedures of the Press
6. Provide quarterly reports on all operations of the Press to the Governing Board
7. Undertake any other activities which will be identified by management or the Governing Board

• The successful candidate would be engaged on a contract period of two (2) years renewable upon satisfactory evaluation of performance

Salary and conditions of service are negotiable but very attractive

Required Skills/ Job experience:

The candidate must have:

1. A minimum of a second degree in publishing or related field, preferably a Masters degree in Business Administration from a recognized University, with at least five years post-qualification experience in the printing industry; or
2. A Masters Degree in Business Administration (Marketing Option) from a recognized University. In addition she/he
3. Should have worked in the publishing industry for 15 years, five of which have been in top management position
4. Must have entrepreneurial skills
5. Must be a vision leader
6. Must be capable of inspiring to produce desired results
7. Must be a good communicator and a team player
