RTI is seeking applicants for anticipated USAID-funded health systems strengthening opportunity in Ghana. The Ghana Systems for Health Project will build on USAID’s and Government of Ghana’s achievements in strengthening health system building blocks – including management and leadership, health information systems, health workforce, supply chain and infrastructure, and health financing – with a strong focus on integrated service delivery at all levels of the health system.
The project will support the Government of Ghana (GoG) accelerate its achievement of universal health coverage, which it has committed to reach by 2030, and will address systemic inequity gaps and quality of health services through promoting community-based health planning services (CHPS) and primary health care approaches. Position is based in Accra, Ghana.
Job Description
Job Title: Technical Director
Provide primary support to the functions of the Chief of Party (COP) in supervising and assuring the quality of technical activities, including management and oversight of technical staff.
With the COP, the Technical Director will be responsible for ensuring that all technical assistance provided under the project are strategic, coherent and consistent and supports the achievement of project objectives.
Required Skills or Experience
MD, Master’s degree, Ph.D., preferred, in public health, public administration, public policy, health policy, health finance/economics, or other related fields with
At least 10 years of experience in the management of international donor- (including USAID-) funded health systems strengthening projects, in Ghana highly preferred.
Experience advising on USAID-funded health projects and programs and in-depth familiarity with USAID rules and regulations and reporting requirements.
