Job Description

Job Title: Head – Internal Audit

Job Objectives

• The selected candidate shall provide leadership in ensuring control measures of the bank are compiled and adhered to
• In conjunction with the General Manager, they shall ensure compliance with statutory benchmarks
and internal control systems are stringently enforced and adhered to

Duties

• Design control systems based on regulations, internal processes and procedures and in compliance with auditing best practice
• Draw up and implement periodic auditing protocols covering all areas of the bank’s operations
• Ensure compliance with all approved auditing protocols by staff of the bank
• Minimize through checks and reporting, risk of fraud and all other acts and ommissions that would impair the company’s achievement of set objectives
• Provide periodic report to the Board of Directors and ensure implementation of Boards directives
• Supervise the auditing staff and draw up job functions to support the achievement of set objectives of the Department
• Any other functions assigned by the Board of Directors Reporting
• The Head of Audit shall report the Board of directors

Key Deliverables

• Monthly audit summaries
• Quarterly audit reports
• A professional qualification or part qualification would be an added advantage

Qualification Required & Experience

• A first Degree/HND in Accounts/Finance, Banking and Finance
• A professional qualification or part qualification would be an added advantage

Others:-

• Honestly is key
• Excellent Ms Word / Excel Skills
• Knowledge of Banking software’s especially T.24 Banking software would be an added advantage
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Three ore more years in a similar position
