Saboba/Chereponi Rural Bank is a newly-registered rural bank in Saboba/Chereponi in the Northern Region with a provisional banking license approved by the Bank of Ghana.

1. Manager:

Job Description

The promoters of the bank are seeking suitably qualified persons to fill the above vacancy.

Job Purpose:
The successful applicant shall have the overall supervisory responsibilities for the effective functioning of the bank.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Board to formulate policies and develop procedures for carrying out the functions of bank
  2. Provide leadership and guidance for the bank through co-ordination of activities of all the departments and agencies of the bank
  3. Prepare and present relevant technical papers to the Board of Directors
  4. Responsible for the operational and financial administration/management of the bank
  5. Implement decisions and strategies of the Board
  6. Establish linkages between the Bank of Ghana and the ARB Apex Bank as well as other financial institutions and external bodies
  7. Responsible for the preparation and submission of prudential returns to regulatory bodies, strategic planning, human and physical resource management
  8. Ensure compliance with the Banking Act, 2004 (Act 673), the ARB Apex Bank Regulations (LI 1825), 2006 and other relevant legislations

 

Required Skills or Experience

 

  • A minimum of a first degree in a relevant discipline from a recognised University plus 10 years work experience in the banking industry and should have served as a Manger for 5 years or
  • A relevant professional qualification plus 7 years post-qualification experience in the banking industry and should have served in the capacity of a Manager for four (4) years
  • Experience in a rural banking environment is highly preferred and the ideal candidate should be a self-starter capable of evolving and implementing programmes to start and grow the bank
  • Must be computer literate
  • Candidate must have drive, initiative, business acumen and be results-oriented

 

2. Accountant:

Job Description

The promoters of the bank are seeking suitably qualified persons to fill the above vacancy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. To assist the Manager in the day-to-day management/administration of the bank
  2. To perform other duties which may be assigned by the Manager or the Board

Required Skills or Experience

 

  • A minimum of HND/GCE ‘A’ Level/CA Part II or any other equivalent qualification with 7 years work experience in the banking industry, 5 years of which must be at a senior level. Experience in a rural bank is preferable
  • Must be computer literate

 

3. Cashiers/Clerks

Job Description

The promoters of the bank are seeking suitably qualified persons to fill the above vacancy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • To perform cashiering/clerical and other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Manager or Accountant.

 

Required Skills or Experience

 

  • A minimum of Diploma in Business Studies (Accounting Option). Experience in cashiering/clerical duties in a bank will be an advantage
  • Must be computer literate
