1. Expeditor:

Job Description

Purpose of Job:
To monitor and expedite orders on a priority basis.

Key performance areas:

  1. Orders updating and feedback to various end users
  2. Register all imports documentation from our respective overseas suppliers for customers clearance
  3. Alert brokers/agencies about incoming cargo for custom clearance procedures
  4. Liaise with brokers about urgent shipments for immediate clearance and delivery to our respective service centers
  5. Collate all documents on goods received from ports for checking by the stores
  6. Receipting – both local and foreign orders
  7. Register all parts related problems – wrong parts, damaged spares, under-supply and over supply orders – through the Sandvik Logistics Process Support and ensuring problems resolution
  8. Monitor all orders for Ghana through effective and efficient delivery methods
  9. Reconciliation

Reporting Relationship: The role reports to the Purchasing and Logistics Officer
 

Required Skills or Experience

 

  • Minimum GCE O or A Level/WASSCE
  • Must be able to read and write in a clear manner
  • Computer literate and be able to communicate in a positive way, via email and telephone
  • Previous experience of working under pressure would be an advantage

Special Requirement:

  • To be successful in this role, you will be service minded, possess strong communication skills and have the ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Successful applicants would be required to work at SMC sites in Ghana and other West African Countries

 

2. Sales Order Desk

Job Description

To Order Desk is a function that supports the business segments by processing customer sales orders, quotation requests and enquiries for all spare parts, tools and consumable products as well as logistic support functions such as following up on dispatches and assisting with documentation. This position plays an important role in supporting the After Market business.

Key performance areas:

  1. You will ensure that all customer sales orders, quotations and enquiries are processed efficiently, with minimum delay
  2. Proactively build relationships with customers and distributors
  3. Follow common systems and processes that is based on SMC guidelines for order processing and management of inventory
  4. Manage the outbound logistics of Parts and Tools in conjunction with SMC  logistics
  5. Act as the link between sales company and the SMC logistics Department
  6. Provide marketing support to the segment, aftermarket operations

Reporting Relationship: The role reports to the Senior Order Desk Officer

Required Skills or Experience

 

  • Minimum HND in Purchasing and Supply/Part qualification in CIPS or its equivalent
  • Must have 2 years experience in similar role
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Application
  • Experience in Technical Buying will be an added advantage

3. Industrial Attachment Trainees

Job Description

Purpose of Job:
Sandvik Mining and Construction is undergoing expansion within the West Africa Sub-Region.

  • To support the company’s growth and expansion, we are looking for highly talented and motivated individuals to be trained in various Engineering fields within the company
  • Successful candidates after the training will be considered for possible employment by the company

 

Required Skills or Experience

 

  1. BSc Mechanical Engineering/BSc Electrical Engineering/BSc Mining Engineering
  2. Completion of one National Service
  3. Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  4. Intermediate knowledge in MS office suite
  5. Previous work experience within the mining industry will be an advantage

Special Requirements:

  • Trainees will be attached to various Sandvik sites in Obuasi, Tarkwa, Damang and other locations where the Company has operations
