Job Description

Overall Purpose and responsibilities:
The Programme Officer will support the practical implementation of the new Ghana country strategy portfolio of project which comprises social inclusion, employment, health and inclusive education projects

She/he will work with partners to develop programme and project plans, as well as annual implementation plans and ensure an effective and smooth implementation of projects within buget and to agreed quality standards
The Programme Officer will work with partners on all aspects of the project cycle (project development, implementation, financial management, monitoring and evaluation)

Location of Position: The post holders will be based in Accra, with frequent travels in-country, to project sites

Required Skills or Experience

Person Specification:
The role has substantial experience of work in the area of Neglected Tropical Diseases and/or Public Health

You should have a degree in a relevant field (Health or Public Health), with a minimum of 5 years working experience, of 3 of which should be in development within an INGO environment
Experience in the areas of Primary Health Care that is firmly rooted in Community Development will especially be relevanting for this post
A knowledge and previous experience in social inclusion, education and community development programmes will be an added advantage, as well as experience in project and partnership management
