Solidaridad West Africa (SWA) is a not-for-profit organization that supports the sustainable development of farmers and production systems in West Africa. We play a catalytic role by partnering with private sector companies and other stakeholders to foster the development of socially responsible, ecologically sound, and profitable supply chains. Our activities in West Africa are focused on cocoa, gold, oil palm, cotton and other commodities.
As the Regional Expertise Center (REC) within Solidaridad’s international network, we are part of a growing global movement advocating and supporting sustainable and responsible production and trade.
SWA focuses on stimulating sustainable supply chains through innovations in good practices, robust infrastructure, sustainable landscapes management and enabling policy environment.
The Solidaridad regional office is based in Accra, Ghana and currently has programmes and operations in Sierra Leone, Cameroon, Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia and Nigeria.

Job Description

Job Title: Accounts Officer

Reports to: Finance Manager
Duty station: Accra

JOB SUMMARY

The position holder shall assist the finance section of the organisation. S/he will assist in all accounting issues and should be willing to use the financial
force application (cloud based accounting system) to enhance reporting to donors. The Account Officer will provide the needed accounting entries and
information to meet reporting requirements.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare transfer letters and other bank documents
Prepare project imprest reconciliations
Make entries in the accounting system on daily basis
Responsible for tax payments, social security payments, etc.
Handle accounts payable and receivables
Process invoices for payments

Handle general account queries
Reconcile staff working advances and retirements
Prepare specific project financial report according to donor requirements as instructed
Any other task as assigned by the Line Manager.

Required Skills or Experience

A good first degree in Business Administration (Accounting option) plus ACCA/ICA/CIMA Part 3.
A minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience in a reputable organization (international organizations, consultancies, bilateral agencies
etc.)
Computer literacy is a must.
