Sourcetrust is a not for profit organisation that supports and promotes sustainable farming practices throughout the developing world. We focus on solutions that enhance the farmer’s ability to trade, helping farmers living in poverty improve their crop yield and quality, to create sustainable livelihoods and improve the long-term welfare of themselves and their communities.
Sourcetrust’s work is funded by a voluntary premium paid on traceable cocoa beans. Working together with NGOs, farming communities, processors, buyers and chocolate makers, it aims to improve the welfare and wellbeing of farmers and their communities by helping farmers create, maintain and protect sustainable and ethical supply chains of commodities specifically cocoa.
Sourcetrust Ghana has embarked on a cocoa certification programme and now invites candidates to apply for the under-listed position:
The Project Manager will have responsibility across several districts for organising cocoa farmers into groups for training, continuous improvement and subsequent certification.
The role is demanding and will require considerable leadership skills because of the multi-stakeholder nature of the work in training, farmer contact, administration, reporting and liaison with relevant institutions on technical issues.
Required Skills or Experience
BSc Agriculture or related discipline. Masters degree would be an added advantage
At least five years relevant experience
A proven record of being able to work closely with farmers
Good communication skills
