Job Title: Director, Rates Trading
The Role Responsibilities
-Deliver FXRC capability to clients in the footprint and the network.
-Provide accurate and timely FXRC product pricing to FM Sales staff, to meet customer needs at competitive prices
-Transact trades on the Bank’s own account, to generate revenue and hedge risk originated in support of the client franchise
-Enhance SCB’s name as one of the major players in the FXRC product category
– -Work closely with Debt Capital Market and FM Sales to distribute risk originated on client transactions
-Work closely with the Structuring Africa team to deliver client solutions
-Establish and maintain a network of relationships with other SCB Financial
-Market Centres to maintain communication on financial market movements
-Monitor regulatory and market developments and provide feedback on the market and the business to sales and management
-Manage the portfolio risk generated in trading by adhering to approved GMR limits and seeking excess approvals where necessary
People and Talent
-To work closely with the Financial Markets team cutting across product lines to deliver client solutions
–Ensure that adequate and appropriate systems and controls are in place to comply with Group and Business policies, procedures, standards and codes.
-Ensure operational risk management and reporting is an integral part of the business process.
-Monitor all major risk issues and concentrations. Where appropriate, direct remedial action and/or ensure adequate reporting to Risk Committees and functional product heads
Our Ideal Candidate
-Substantial experience in the banking industry and financial markets, including demonstrated success in a similar role and a good understanding of local financial markets
-Must possess sharp business acumen (including ability to assess risk and appropriate levels of return), strong leadership qualities, excellent interpersonal skills and multi cultural awareness and sensitivity
– Ability to manage geographically dispersed and highly varied customer and product base
