The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible and accountable for all financial functions and reporting including compliance of international loan facility across the business.

Job Description 

Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

The CFO shall act as the principal point of contact between the business and the Lenders group. As one of the business’s senior –most executives, the CFO must possess a strong business partner orientation and will strive to proactively identify continuous improvement opportunities across the organization.

The CFO will be a key member of the TAQA Africa Leadership Team, and as such will be expected to foster collaboration, professional development and exceptional performance across every area of the organization.
The CFO’s primary responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
Provide leadership and coordination of TICO’s financial planning, debt financing, and budget management functions
Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions, including the preparation of financial forecasts and reports (including monthly financial statements, cost
reports, budgeting, forecasting reports) and any reports required by the Lenders.
Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
Direct and coordinate debt financing and debt service payments with the Lenders (including monitoring of, and ensuring compliance with, all obligations under the loan agreements), as well as management of accounts and typical administrative responsibility of loan documentation
Manage the preparation of TICO’s audited financial statements, and oversee all other statutory reporting requirements
Manage the preparation of all corporate tax returns and ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations
Direct financial audits and provide recommendations/implementation of procedural improvements to the accounting/financial control systems
Manage the preparation of TICO’s annual budgets and all related Board reports
Act as principal point of contact with external parties, as directed by the GM, including onshore and offshore security trustees and agents, trade
counterparties and auditors
Oversee daily operations of TICO’s finance department
Member of Regional Leadership Team:
Member of the team which helps to set the financial strategy for the direction of the business and the Africa region, as well as implementation and execution of the tactical decisions to ensure achievement of the strategy
Member of Finance Leadership Team:

The CFO will uphold the standards and expectations of the function. He/ she will also be expected to mentor and develop other team members in the business and
increase talent capability and overall bench strength across the Africa

Finance functions.

Accounting and Reporting:

The CFO will ensure that all accounting policies, procedures and control systems necessary to ensure accurate and timely reporting of the business performance
will be maintained. This includes management reporting and analysis, as well as external reporting, that comply with all relevant laws and requirements.

Planning & Budgeting /Analysis:

The CFO will work closely with the Africa Finance Team to develop short terms forecast, annual and longer term plans that maximize value for the Global Power business. Monitors performance versus plans and budgets, and provides useful and objectives analysis to other executive and business partners. The CFO will be responsible to ensure that all investments meets the required standards for submission to the TAQA Group, including supporting value assurance in the region to uphold the quality of investment decisions in the region.

Tax/Treasury:

THE CFO will work to optimal tax and treasury activities within the business.

Supply Chain:

The CFO will be expected to understand the responsibilities of these individuals mentor and support them within the business to enable their success. The priorities and budget will be established by their respective line manager.
