The Coastal Resource Centre – Ghana is an NGO based in Sekondi. CRC-Ghana is the implementer of the USAID supported programme on Integrated Coastal and Fisheries Governance (ICFG) – the Hen Mpoano Initiative in the six coastal districts of the Western Region of Ghana.
1. Communications Officer
Job Description
The Initiative is now recruiting suitable persons for the following vacant position.
Responsibility:
Implementation of the communications strategy of the Initiative that support all programme areas and partners activities.
Specific Tasks:
- Liaise with programme staff and partners for the refinement and implementation of the existing communication strategy; orient and development of a creative communication programme and be responsible for all messages aimed at target institution s and communities;
- Make inputs into a running radio drama serial and rural theatre program;
- Develop human interest stories, updates and weekly bulletins from the field for communications to primary and secondary audiences;
- Contribute to the overall programme components of natural resources management, social and economic development initiatives
Required Skills or Experience
Required Profile:
- A Masters degree with 2 years experience or a Bachelors degree with 5 years experience in developing communications within the civil society sector;
- Experience in the development both oral and visual communication tools;
- Experience in the use of focus groups for qualitative research;
- Excellent creative and artistic skills; capacity to lead training programme and excellent communication skills; and must be a team player
- Position is based in Sekondi
2. Programme Support Officer
Job Description
The Initiative is now recruiting suitable persons for the following vacant position.
Responsibility:
Will support the National Policy Co-ordinator in the day-to-day running of the sub-office in Accra for the realisation of the goals of the ICFG Programme.
Specific Tasks:
- Provide administrative and logistic support to the NPC; liaise in-country visits of international project staff; cover meetings and assist in preparation and planning of ICFG events; obtain VAT relief purchase orders from USAID;
- Prepare and submit monthly budget/expenditure and manage petty cash, among other duties
Required Skills or Experience
Required Profile:
- Bachelors degree with 2 years or HND with 5 years experience in and managing an executive office, good written and oral communication, excellent interpersonal skill, must be able to work with little supervision, be a team player
- Position is based in Accra
