The Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana) was established by an Act of parliament, Act 170, in 1963.  It is the sole body charged with the regulation of the accountancy profession in Ghana.  Its members are the only persons recognized under the Companies Code (Act 179) 1963, for the purpose of audit of company accounts.  It is governed by a council of eleven chartered accountants.  The Council, headed by a President, holds office for a period of two (2) years.
Institute currently runs two distinct programmes.
(a) The Professional Programme.
(b) The Technician Programme, known as the Ghana Accounting Technicians (GAT) Programme.

A candidate who successfully completes the professional programme and obtain a working experience in accountancy, approved by the Council of the |Institute., qualifies to use the designatory letter ‘CA’ after his/her name.

Job Description:

As a result of reorganization of the Secretariat, the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana), seeks to employ a highly motivated result oriented Manager to augment its staff.

The Examinations Manager who would be under the direction of the Technical and Research Director would be responsible for all matters connected with technician (ATSWA) and professional (CA)

His/her responsibilities would include

  1. Managing the examination processes of the Institute
  2. Ensuring that questions set for all the parts meet the standard set by the Institute’s syllabus
  3. Liaising with examiners and moderators
  4. Reviewing the syllabus of the Institute
  5. Performing any other related duties assigned by the Technical Director/Chief Executive Officer

Remuneration: Very competitve and commensurate with demands of the position

Job Experience:

An ideal applicant should have the following qualifications:

  • Must be a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana)
  • Must have at least three years’ post qualification working experience
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must be able to meet strict deadlines and communication effectively
  • Must be team player, possess excellent human relation skills
  • Must have the knack for excellence
