We seek the services of a new Accounts Assistant to provide responsive operational support to the Finance and Administration function and its stakeholders, including controlling the day-to-day flow of financial transactions and information. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the successful applicant will be responsible for day to day financial functions detailed on the responsibility below. We deliver projects spanning all key sectors of the construction industry, including roads, rail, tunneling, defense and building. Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Job Level: Experienced (Non-Manager)

Job Specialization: Accounting / Audit / Tax

Job Type: Full-Time


Minimum Qualification: HND

Preferred Years of Experience: 3 – 5 years

Salary: ₵2,500.00 ‐ ₵3,400.00 per month


  • Delivering accurate, timely and responsive financial services for the company that comply with company and statutory requirements
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, six monthly and annual accounts and trial balances
  • Processing credit applications and payment of all creditors and sub-contractors
  • Banking and preparation of bank reconciliations
  • Maintaining debtors system, invoicing and receipting
  • Reconciling of allocated General Ledger accounts
  • Preparing of Business Activity Statements
  • Assisting with cash flow reporting
  • Assisting with budgets and forecasts for programs and projects as required
  • Assisting with the maintenance of a fixed asset register
  • Assisting with payment of salaries and wages, as required
  • Maintaining productive relationships with internal clients, creditors, sub-contractors and debtors
  • Delivering accounting and financial services that meet the needs of relevant stakeholders
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable processing
  • Journal entries & Dealing with internal & external stakeholders

Qualification and Requirements

  • A Tertiary Qualifications in Finance, Accounting and Business are a must for this role
  • Related experience in a previous relevant role
  • At least 3 years in a similar role
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent analytical and numerical abilities
  • Good maths and computer skills
  • Analytical and logical problem solving skills
  • A good business understanding
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good presentation skills
  • An ability to explain complex financial information in a clear way
  • Honesty and discretion
