Job Description

Job Title: MFS and Cash Analyst

Role Purpose

Your core purpose in this role will be to provide the business with Assurance Services on Revenue and preventing leakages around the Mobile Financial Services (MFS) Business. You will also be required to perform professional audit work either individually or as a team leader in order to ensure quality products and also to identify and mitigate Cash risks as part of Revenue Assurance value addition.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform End to End review of MFS Controls and ensure controls are adequate and complete;
• Participate in Commercial Meetings in order to have the Commercial Blue Print for MFS
• Perform risk analysis of key Processes of MFS and ensure controls have been embedded in the processes;
• Assist Internal Control during Process Improvement Campaigns related to MFS Processes;
• Perform an analytical review of MFS transactions using cubes or alarms and report on any unusual trends;
• Put in place a revenue and cost validation process from the Platform into GL;
• Work with ISO to review accesses of Employees and ensure Segregation of Duties are clearly implemented
• Perform an End to End review of Airtime Sales for Epins-vouchers and Scratch Cards and ensure adequate controls;
• Perform daily reconciliation comparing Platform vs. POS vs. Accounting vs. Deposit Slips to assure Cash;
• Perform the Deferred Revenue analytics using the standard template and check for unusual deviations or trends;
• Review MFS Commission validation and payment process and ensure all checks are in place;
• Perform an analytical review into prepaid commissions and report on any unusual patterns detected.
• Perform a post analysis of subsidized Handsets and review the variances with the Cost Benefit Analysis that was done;
• Put in place controls around Telephone and equipment Sales;
• Put in place a comprehensive MFS Dashboard report that will look into all Revenues, Costs and other Financial KPIs such as ARPUs, Subscriber Numbers, and Penetration;
• Put in place a weekly risk Dashboard reporting on major Leakages, Loss Prevention, Cost Savings and Revenue improvement opportunities.

Position Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or Finance. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage;
• Minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience;
• Broad knowledge in object oriented programming language;
• Strong skills in SQL Database Management;
• Broad knowledge of the Telecommunication industry;
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of risk management, control and auditing methodologies;
• Knowledge in Database applications (SQL, Oracle)
