Job Description

Job Title: Contracts and Procurement Officer

Tullow Ghana Limited (TGL) is seeking to hire a Contracts and Procurement Advisor in Takoradi. The Contracts Advisor – Indirect Category is a key role within the Contracts & Procurement (C&P) team which provides C&P support for Contract Holders/Budget Holders in the Safety, Sustainability, Operations & External Affairs (SSOEA) including:

• Developing and implementing of Local Content strategy within the Contractor, Supplier or Vendor base having regard to direction given by the SCM Local Content Development & Delivery group
• Providing technical procurement expertise on policies, procedures, systems and standards to assist stakeholders undertaking procurement planning.
• Developing, sourcing and managing strategic decisions and effectively meet organizational and business objectives.
• Advising stakeholders on appropriate procurement governance and performance management mechanisms to monitor, co-ordinate and improve procurement activity and performance
• Assisting in the development and implementation of capability development initiatives to improve procurement outcomes.
• Proactively identifying and addressing procurement risks and mitigation strategies to meet organizational compliance requirements
• Reviewing Specifications and scope of Work for completeness and enables technical functions to translate their requirements into a clearly articulated expression of commercial intent,
• Providing ad-hoc support to User functions on post-award contractual interpretation and administration matters coupled with contract provisions including explanations on processes, penalties, and compliance terms to users.

You will be an experienced Contracts and Procurement Advisor having experience in the formulating, evaluating, negotiating & execution of contracts and also demonstrate experience in the following areas:

• Minimum of 5 years evidenced experience in contracts negotiation is paramount.
• Predominantly contracts formulation experience for operations and/or indirect procurement within Oil & Gas with substantive exposure to legal and commercial issues within supply chain.
• Should hold a Degree in a business, engineering or management related subject area.
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• CIPS qualification or similar preferred.
