Job Purpose: To  support the FPSO Engineering Manager with the provision of:

Offshore engineering support as an extension to the onshore FPSO Engineering Department

Onshore engineering support to compliment the offshore activities being managed and undertaken by the FPSO Engineering Department

 

Offshore Responsibilities/Key Objectives: Support and advise the project teams on equipment designs, construction, offshore hookup and commissioning on the FPSO to meet project requirements

Have a detailed understanding and knowledge relating to offshore facilities

Support the Technical Authorities in respect of the disciplines, authorizing key drawings and documents, controlling technical and operational changes and reporting on the integrity of the equipment and systems

Review and advise on the TGL Performance Standards for Safety Critical Elements related to the facilities equipment discipline

Provide technical input on vendor selection and manage external specialist consultants and contractors

Contributes to studies and participates in front end engineering design teams to develop philosophies, standards, designs and specifications for the discipline that are integral with process requirements, project objectives and operational philosophies

Contribute to and quality assures reliability, maintainability and availability studies to verify the suitability of discipline designs

Participate in design reviews, HAZID and HAZOP studies

Supervise detailed engineering facilities design (by contractors) for the discipline and its interfaces.  Supervise the development of and authorize specifications for equipment and packages

Quality assures the manufacture, testing and acceptance of various pieces of equipment and packages

Advertisement

Program and monitor field installation, commissioning and testing procedures and requirements, and liaising with and directing site supervisory staff as necessary

Identify and coordinate operational requirements including: maintenance and inspection programs, spare parts requirements and the training of equipment operators and maintenance technicians

Advise on field operational and maintenance organizations on performance optimization and troubleshooting across all the mechanical facilities.

Assist in high level review and assurance of co-venturer activities and assessment of assets being considered for acquisition.

Prepare reports and presentations

 

Onshore Responsibilities/Key Objectives Perform various facilities engineering studies using HYSYS, PIPESIM and PI to assist the Offshore Facilities Engineer in daily FPSO operational support

Prepare reports addressing technical queries raised by Operations and Contractors

Respond to urgent/immediate assessments and inter discipline activities in the absence of Senior Facilities Engineer

Check and mark up documents and deliverables submitted by Contractors for review

Prepare and facilitate discussions for SOR development and review of SOW from Contractors and Vendors

Check and review project documents such as ITP, CTR, Cost Estimates and Schedules etc

Identify opportunities for continuous Facilities improvement

Coordinate with Offshore Production to obtain and validate information or assumptions required by the Engineering Team or by third party Contractors

Represent Projects and Engineering in liaising with Contractors and Vendors for offshore visits

Develop and review procedures for internal projects and work packages submitted by third party contractors/vendors

Actively participate in Risk Assessment activities

Assist various TGL Project Managers and Discipline Leads with information and undertake and or lead projects when required

Undertake specific assignments from the Senior Facilities Engineer

 

Financial Responsibility: Check and review CTR’s, Work Orders, Purchase Orders and Variation Orders
            Personal Specification
Education: Primary University Engineering Degree in relevant engineering discipline
Skills: Experience in the discipline within the national/international oil and gas sector or other process industry, ideally including from front end design through to operation

Previous experience with an Oil and Gas Operator/Owner or Oil and Gas Service Company is desirable, but not essential

Technical knowledge of engineering equipment used in Oil and Gas facilities

Participate in equipment selection, type, sizing and design basis

Operational knowledge of all offshore facilities equipment
