Job Title: Local Content Supplier Development Advisor
Location & Team: Accra – Ghana
Reports To: Contracts & Local Content Supervisor

Supervises:  N/A
Job Purpose: Responsible for promotion of Ghanaian Contractors and suppliers within TGL

Identify opportunities for Ghanaian Contractors and Suppliers which may provide mutual business benefit

Development of Ghanaian Suppliers to meet TGL’s current and future needs

Develop and maintain relationships with Partners, Ghana Petroleum Commission and other external bodies

Responsibilities / Key Objectives: Analyse user Department requirements to establish suitability for Ghanaian suppliers

Advertisement

Review all requisition for services , works and goods to ensure inclusion of appropriate local Suppliers

Produce internal reports, which enable identification of suitable suppliers and the development of local businesses

Provide input to the development and implementation of local Content Development program

Analyses supplier data for identification of supplier training needs

Monitor and feedback on the identified trainings for local suppliers

Coordinate site visits in accordance with agreed plan

Assist in performing preliminary qualification & Assessment of Local and international companies.

Maintain data and records on suppliers’ database

Financial Responsibility: As per corporate Delegation of Authority (DOA)

 

Person Specification

Education: Degree in Business Administration

Combination of work experience and education that meet minimum requirements may be considered

Skills: Experience in a procurement / contracting environment would be advantageous

Good oral and written communication skills

Excellent computer skills especially in Microsoft Office

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage own time and establish priorities

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental goals

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

 

Experience: Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a technical or commercial environment
