UT Logistics Ltd Recruitment (3 Positions)

The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

• Preparation of all customs documentation for Clearing of goods
• Ensure compliance and passing of all licensing of entries while liaising with long room to know the state of entries passed and to go through harbour operations as regards release from shipping companies, preparation for delivery orders, inspection etc
• Liaise with regulatory agencies like Food & Drug Board, Plant Quarantine, Standard Board, and Environmental Protection Council, Inspection Companies, etc, when necessary
• Arrange for premises examination and any other regimes used in clearing – viz-home-use, warehousing, and transit as appropriate
• Responsible for Clearing goods from the ports as appropriate
• Ensure the Clearing Departments budgets are utilised prudently
• Train staff of the Clearing Department on Clearing Procedures
• Ensure a vibrant Shipping Agency
• Any any other additional responsibilities that may be assigned

Required Skills or Experience

• Minimum of 1st Degree in Port and Shipping Administration or other related discipline with at least 8 years post qualification relevant work experience. A 2nd Degree in a related field will be an advantage
• CEPS Proficiency Certificate in Clearing
• At least 6 years relevant work experience in long room operations
• Knowledge of Clearance and Port Operations
• Knowledge of relevant laws regulating Customs certification etc
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Possession of a high sense of integrity
• Adept with Microsoft office suite
• Ability to work under pressure
