A reputable Utility company is seeking a highly qualified professional for the position of a General Services Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for the co-ordination, supervision, and maintenance of non-power related assets of the company in the operational area.
Job Description
Job Title: General Service Supervisor
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Plan and develop work programme for the General Services Section in the operational area
• Schedule and supervise facilities maintenance, and new works in progress in the operational area.
• Assist in the provision of inputs for the preparation of business plan and budget proposals, reports and other documents relating to the General Services Section
• Liaise with the engineering department’s facilities management section on the implementation of the Minor capital works programme
• Assist in determining the scope of works and prepare bill of quantities/cost estimates for specific maintenance and new works
• Prepare and submit work orders for specific maintenance and new works to be outsourced.
• Inspect, test and certify maintenance and new works completed, and make recommendations for payment.
• Assist in the preparation of tendering documents and contract documentation for procurement, ensuring consistency with the provisions of the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663).
Qualification Required & Experience
• HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
• 10 years working experience in construction industry, or a facilities management assignment.
Competencies
• A good working knowledge of procurement practices especially on Ghana’s Public Procurement laws
• Good interpersonal relations, technical report writing decision-making and communication skills
• Ability to solve technical or operational problems,
• Ability to provide leadership and educational to subordinates
• Must be computer literate
