Solidaridad West Africa (SWA) is a not-for-profit organization that supports the sustainable development of farmers and production systems in West Africa. We play a catalytic role by partnering with private sector companies and other stakeholders to foster the development of socially responsible, ecologically sound, and profitable supply chains. Our activities in West Africa are focused on cocoa, gold, oil palm, cotton and other commodities.
As the Regional Expertise Center (REC) within Solidaridad’s international network, we are part of a growing global movement advocating and supporting sustainable and responsible production and trade.
SWA focuses on stimulating sustainable supply chains through innovations in good practices, robust infrastructure, sustainable landscapes management and enabling policy environment.
The Solidaridad regional office is based in Accra, Ghana and currently has programmes and operations in Sierra Leone, Cameroon, Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia and Nigeria.

Job Description

Job Title: Human Resource Manager

Report to: Regional Director
Duty Station: Accra

Profile Summary

The Human Resource Manager, a business/strategic partner will design, implement and advice on human resource programmes and policies, including but not limited to recruitment and selection, performance management, compensation/benefits, training and development and employee relations. The incumbent shall be abreast with international human resource management that is aligned to HR functions and best practices. The Human resource professional must be competent in
several human resource specialties and provide coaching to programme managers on HR best practices.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Support, improve and implement HR policies and procedures that is aligned to the strategic organizational direction of Solidaridad;
Facilitate the setup of appropriate management application(s) and train employees on its use for enhanced self-service.
Manage employee HR records and ensure it is regularly updated.
Provide leadership in recruitment selection of new staff. Ensure that new hires and existing staff understand the organisation’s culture and processes.

Identify training and capacity needs of the employees using appropriate tools/systems and approaches to ensure best learning outcome.
Coach Managers on how to instil a sense of responsibility and commitment in the management of employees they supervise.
Assess employee health and wellness systems and other human resource related programmes and advice management periodically through written
briefs.
Lead the performance management systems of the organisation and ensure regular feedback;
Manage exit process of staff to ensure smooth employee separation and conduct exit interviews in consultation with appropriate programme managers.
Lead a consultative benefit and compensation survey periodically to ensure that the organization is competitive at all times.
Any other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

Required Skills or Experience

Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or other related fields.
Minimum Five (5) years working experience in similar position with an International organization.
Demonstrated use and experience in managing staff within the context of Ghana Labour Law.
Excellent command of MS-Office, Google suite.
Ability to speak French will be an added advantage.
