We are looking for an Executive Chef to take full responsibility for the hotel’s private functions, events, restaurant and room service. Be confident with a thorough knowledge of kitchen management and developing staff. The ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer services is essential to success in this role as well as a real passion for food.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Decide the menus and the frequency in which the menu changes
- Establish good relationships with suppliers to ensure better discounts and contract terms
- Train and manage kitchen personnel
- Supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities
- Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
- Select and develop recipes
- Establish presentation technique and quality standards
- Plan and price menus
- Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance
- Ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen
Required Skills or Experience
- Ideally possess a bachelor’s degree or related culinary degree
- 8 or more years of industry and culinary management experience
- Ideally have some start up experience
- Ideally have worked within a luxury 5* hotel
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and staff
- Demonstrate outstanding leadership skills
- Respond effectively to changing trends and customers’ tastes
