Job Description

Job Title: Head, Technology and Projects

Purpose of Position

• To manage the Institution’s information Technology, MIS and other Technology projects to drive operational excellence and deliver value to customers

Major Responsibilities

• Lead department’s operational and strategic planning, including innovating, planning projects, organising and negotiating the allocation of resources
• Work in conjunction with VFG leadership to ensure systems are optimized to support business operations through regularly scheduled operation reviews and internal audits
• Formulate and timely revise the department’s plan with activities based on the business plan target and establish annual plan of action for IT staff
• Ensure proper and cost effective design of LAN/WAN infrastructure to fit the current business environment
• Prepare and maintain IT infrastructure and process documentation
• Develop and enforce policy and procedures to ensure the usability and the protection of the organisation’s IT assets and the integrity, security and privacy of information entrusted to or maintained by the organisation
• Develop and implement technological solutions to achieve institutions digital finance strategic objectives
• Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all IT systems, including servers, PC’s, operating systems, hardware, software and peripherals
• Manage multiple information and communications systems and projects, including voice, data, imaging and office automation

Qualification Required & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree relevant to the position
• Outstanding software and hardware skills
• Analytical and problem solving skills, good attention to detail – core capability
• 5 years working experience in IT field, system administration, Database Administration, Management Informations Systems and IT Security, etc
• Minimum 3 years in a similar management capacity is required
• Thorough understanding of IT infrastructure, planning and development
• System analysis and development
• Organised, accurate and able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines

• Good experience with Temenos T24 Application is essential
• Knowledge of Micro Finance Credit business operations is preferred
