Drive brand equity and drive growth by delivering appropriate communications plans across multiple communication touch points while continuously improving campaign performance delivery from these plans, by driving effectiveness & efficiency

Job Description

Job Title: Media Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Channel Agency Management

  • Ensure Vodafone has a leading edge Channel Agency partner with an appropriate structure and sufficient resource to effectively manage Vodafone’s communication investment
  • Agree and lead channel Agency annual performance targets; continually monitor and evaluate Channel Agency performance
  • Lead statutory Channel Agency reviews in conjunction with head of Brand, marketing communications & events
  • Outline and track KPIs for fiscal year and campaign specific deliverables
  • Manage agency status meetings, competitor reviews, yearly strategy reverts from agency

Media Management

  • Media budget management
  • Ensure OTIF delivery of strategy, plans and schedules for approval and implementation
  • Ensure OTIF mid & post campaign review of all active campaigns
  • Share global / regional best practice to broader business
  • Deploy global Media principles  flawlessly
  • Drive digital marketing agenda
  • Digital committed budgets
  • Partners spend tracking
  • Implementation of playbooks
  • Innovation & Partnerships
  • Initiate and land innovative media ideas to cut through advertising clutter in
  • Execute digital agenda to ensure Vodafone wins within the digital space through innovative and creative solutions to digital marketing
  • Develop external partnerships that seek to fulfil the broad media objectives

Effectiveness & Efficiency

  • Initiate consistent media savings / avoided cost plans in collaboration with supply chain
  • Secure best media agency resource plan & collaborate with supply chain on the most efficient remuneration
  • Lead  in driving ROMI within our media planning & buying
  • Monitor and analyse competitor activity
  • Provide compelling media insights
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with media owners as a means to secure advantageous terms and access to first opportunities in conjunction with channel agency

Strategic Thinking

  • Recommend strategic approaches to media based on existing circumstances and scenarios
  • Develop a paid owned earned ecosystem
  • Harness the power of data from insights team to connect with consumers
  • Deliver media information dashboards/reports

  • Deep consumer & brand understanding

Prior Experience

  • Great attention to details
  • Deep thinker able to view a problem from different angles
  • Medium to strong quantitative ability
  •  Proactive, with strong personal drive
  • Media Planning /  Buying / Media owner experience (minimum 5 years)
  • Numerical and analytical skills / degree of comfort with basic math (decimal and percentages).
  • Consumer data analysis skills
  • Budget management skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, formatting. Anything that helps in the optimization process).
  • PowerPoint skills, Presentation and communication skills
  • Graduate in marketing, media and/or communications.
  • Prior experience in telecoms industry is a plus but not a requirement
  • Project management knowledge
  • Must demonstrate clear knowledge of and understanding of the local traditional and digital media ecosystems
