As business partner the key responsibility is to drive profitability and cost efficiency and to ensure that the customer who is an integral part of the Business is well-thought-out along the financial decision making. This decision making involves bottom line impacting activities including (but not limited to) investment appraisal, complex financial modelling, forecasting, and planning, cost control, business case development, budgeting, sales performance analytics and best-practice financial advice. The Finance Business Partner is the Single Point of Contact and the conduit for its customers back into the wider finance team
Job Description
Job Title: FDS Specialist (EBU & Wholesale)
Role Responsibility
- Run financial analysis to support business cases of new products, customer requests and solution deployment
- Determine bottom-line impact of commercial proposals and decisions on the business’ P&L
- Use investment appraisal models such as (NPV, payback, IRR etc) skills in driving investment decisions
- Thoroughly understand end to end cost base of EBU and maintain monthly accruals on costs and explain monthend variances where applicable
- Proactively identify opportunities for efficiency and savings and promote cost conscious culture within commercial Unit
- Partner stakeholders (Revenue Assurance, Billing Operations and Billing Integrity teams) to provide assurance over business revenues
- Work with the FDS EBU Manager in preparing EBU budgets (revenues and cost) with the corresponding KPIs by working closely with Commercial Units in
- Provide monthly variance analysis and reports on revenues, KPIs and cost with key drivers supporting the variances.
- Support the commercial and Finance units on receivable analysis, including ageing of the receivable ledger and reporting of actual collections versus targets, customer reconciliations and data integrity etc
- Work with the FP & A team in setting the annual collections Target for the Financial Year and cascade the target down to various business units including EBU and O2C teams
- Prepare Monthly and quarterly product analysis on all EBU related products to ensure that margin and pricing are profitable
Technical / Professional Competencies
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or comparable education
- Qualified or Part Qualified ACA/ACCA Accountant or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years work experience in an accounting or a similar finance role
- Proven ability to manage multiple competing deliverables
- Telecom industry experience a plus
- Good communicator, both written and oral – Confident in liaising at all levels
- To have good understanding of financial transactions and accounting for them
- Experience in reconciliation and reporting
- To be knowledgeable in the use of ERP accounting systems preferably SAP
